First off, movement is medicine. Hit the gym, go for a long run, or even a hike in nature. You want your time off to help your body recover, not deteriorate. I always tell my guys—active relaxation is the best relaxation. Moving your body will pump up your endorphins, reduce stress, and keep you feeling like a man who’s in control of his life.
Second, do something fun that’s got absolutely nothing to do with work. Whether it’s a pickup basketball game, playing guitar, working on your car, or cooking an insane meal—pursue a hobby that brings you joy. Fun isn’t childish, it’s therapeutic. It reignites your creative spark and makes you more productive when you go back to the grind.
Next up, social connection. You need strong relationships to stay balanced. Grab a beer with your buddies, take your wife or girlfriend on a date, or have a family dinner. Time off is the perfect opportunity to nurture those bonds that get neglected during the workweek. A man with solid relationships is more grounded, happier, and more fulfilled—period
